Ban Mini Moto Imports

Ban Mini Moto Imports

Police forces in Kent are calling for a ban on mini motos from the far east being imported into the country.

This comes after an accident in Kent which killed one youngster and left another with 40% burns. This comes after the crackdown by the home officed on these mini motos.

In total in England and Wales there were 610 vehicles crushed and seized, over 100 of these were in Kent.

The county was one of 28 areas which took part in the 6 week blitz against mini motos organised by the Home secretary John Reid.

These bikes are illegal when used in public places, such as public footpaths and parks. Use of these vehicles in these places leads to many complaints from locals.

The only place which these can be ridden legally is on private grounds and on specified race tracks which are created for these bikes.

When being imported into this country bikes must meet certain regulations, most of which do not comply to this and therefore are illegal in this country however they are still getting through customs and are still for sale in shops.

Therefore use of these bikes is potentialy life threatening.

If importation is regulated properly then it is likely there will be a huge decrease in the number of budget mini motos for sale in this country.
