Mini Motos are all fitted with air filters, these air filters are used to purify the air that is being sucked into the carb. It is vital that the carb gets alot of clean air in order to run at optimum performance.
Therefore it is important to keep the air filter clean at all times. This is done by removing the bottom fairing of the mini moto and unscrewing the black box of the air filter.
Once you have the foam part of the air filter it is best to clean this in petrol or special air filter oil to get rid of all the debris which may be clogging up the air flow. This can lead to poor performance as the carb is starved of air and therefore will not produce the same performance.
When putting the air filter back into the air box ensure the air filter is dry or this could lead to problems in the carb also.
Alot of mini motos are now being fitted with K&N style air filters which are cone shaped usually, these are used to increase the airflow into the carb and therefore increase performance, these can be cleaned in a similar way except the whole air filter will need to be removed to clean.
