A mini bike rider in Herstmonceux has died whilst riding his mini moto. The rider collided with a taxi whilst illegally riding on the A22.
The rider of the mini bike Ian Thompson suffered serious head injuries after colliding with the vehicle at golden cross just before 1am on a saturday. Mr Thompson was taken to hospital where he died on the monday.
The bike was ridden with no helmet and with no lights, which considering the time of day was a very stupid thing to be doing. The bike shoudl not have been on the road anyway.
Police are warning that more of this fatality could be in the pipeline if these bikes are not ridden legally and ridden on roads. They hope that maybe this event can get it into peoples heads the seriousness of riding illegally.
