mini moto future

With all the recent press about mini motos, and their illegal use we may be seeing an end to a lot of mini motos in this country.

However this is a good thing as the people who will no longer be using their mini motos as they have been crushed will be the yobs that ride them illegally!

If you ride on private land or on a track you have nothing to worry about.

As long as there is not a total ban on the bikes then im sure it will all be fine, just like i've always said, ride these on private land or on a track, not on roads or pavements!

I've seen the figures for the number of mini motos being imported and they are stupid, in 2002 there were around 7,000 bikes imported into the UK. In 2005 this figure rose to an amazing 144,000!!!

With the punishments for riders being points on your lisence, even if you are not old enough, as well as a fine and getting your bike crushed the Home Secretary John Reid is not messing about.

If you do not have a lisence and get points on it, then these points will be put on file then when you are 17, and try to get insurance after passing your test it will be incredibly hard to achieve.

If you are lucky enough to find a company to insure you the premium will be sky high.

With the total number of deaths with these bikes standing at almost 10, there is a reason for the government to want to stop the illegal use of them. As well as being dangerous when ridden on the road by children as young as 2! they cause a nuisance for locals.

Being a mini moto rider myself I am upset with the recent bad press about these bikes but what government says goes (most of the time) so do me and all the other mini moto riders a favour, dont ride them illegally!
