Kenilworth police have got a new method of cracking down on mini motos. They have enlisted the help of a police helicopter. This will help them to catch the riders that are using these bikes illegally.
They are doing this because there is an ever growing population of illegal riders usiong these bikes on public roads and parkland. This causes a nuisance to residents and also increases the chance of injury to the riders and other people using the roads or parklands.
The rise in the figure of people using these bikes illegally has risen due to the falling prices of mini motos and the more and more second hand bikes being sold, making these accessible to everyone.
The helicopter is used to detect the exact location of the illegal riders and then record on video the riders and get evidence of the illegal use of these bikes.
Information is then passed onto the ground officers who will track down the rogue riders. If the riders try to escape then the helicopter uses its high tech heat seeking equipment to find them and inform the officers on foot. The equipment the helicopter has can be used day or night.
So far the operation is working and police have already seized and crushed one mini moto.
