A teenager in Greater Leys has today denied that he deliberately ran over a dog.
The teenage boy struck Jazz, the six year old staffordshire bull terrier, whilst she was being walked by her owner, David Troth.
Jazz has suffered nasty injuries to her face, and after 43 year old David Troth rushed the bleeding and concussed pet to a vets he told us that he fears the dog was hit deliberately.
However the mother of the 16 year old mini moto rider has said that her son believes it was a freak accident.
She said: "He's absolutely petrified. He didn't do it on purpose. As soon as he got home he phoned me in tears and said 'mum I'm in a lot of trouble, I think I've killed a dog'. My son is a good boy, not a yob. He's never been in trouble in his life."
"I can understand the owner is very upset but my son is devastated too. He didn't drive deliberately into this man.
"It was just a freak accident and he's so upset over it and he'd like to apologise to this man but he's too afraid at the moment to go up there."
She also commented on how after the event the family has received threats, which are now being investigated by Police.
Jazz was treated at the Medivet east Oxford animal hospital in Cowley road. She returned home yesterday with 25 stitches in her face.
Jazz will require daily check ups for the next week, and according to her owner she "looks a mess!"

This was not a mini moto it was a motorbike that hit Jazz. Mini motos are a pain and why sell them where are people suppose to ride them other than paths, streets and bridleways where jazz was hit. She is blind in that eye now and guess what happened to the yob? a bloody caution, he did'nt give a damm and in fact he was bragging to his friends, So before you go racing around think what might be around the corner..
