Rob Nuttall, 40 and his son 18 year old son Sam set off for a trip round the country on their monkey bikes.

The two have been battling the recent heat waves, thunderstorms and breakdowns in order to try to reach the half way point of their journey which has already taken place for 3 weeks and over 2,300 miles.

The pair have been averaging around 120 - 150 miles per day having to avoid motorways on their 110cc monkey bikes.

So far their route has taken them through the coast of wales, Cornwall, the south coast, East Anglia and Yorkshire raising a total of £1500 so far!

Rob, of Linden Park Road, Ewood Bridge, Haslingden, said: "It has not been easy. We had a lot of problems in the first 1,000 miles and had to change carburettors.

They have also had to get 4 new tires fitted with the original tires worn bald.

Sam has said that he has been suffering with his back due to vibrations travelling at over 40 miles per hour on eight ince wheels! He also mentioned that the ride has not been easy but they are determined to finish it.

The 5,000 mile journey is due to finish at Blackpool Tower on August 12.
