A mum in Barton, New York, has been arrested after her son was involved in a mini bike crash and became seriously injured whilst riding on a flooded public roadway.
The Authorities say that 30-year-old Kimberly Predmore is charged with endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the late June incident.
Investigators have said that the boy suffered severe head injuries after his crash in the town of Barton, 30 miles west of Binghamton.
Police have said that Kimberly Predmore allowed her son to ride the bike illegaly without a helmet or any protective clothing.
The crash happened on a road while flooding was occurring and a state of emergency had been declared.
