The Copshop in Hull are approaching the crackdown on mini motos in a new way, instead of fighting the riders of these machines they have chosed to join them and help them with their problems of having no where to ride.
Hull community copshop are joining forces with Hull City Council Anti Social Behaviour team and the Auto Cycle Union to create environments where riders can use their motorcycles in a safe and legal manner as a recognised motor sport.
This means that the mini moto users will have a place to race and ride their bikes, a place and group known as the 'pocket bike club'.
Also at these places pocket bikes users will be able to discuss the mechanical issues they have with their bikes and also will be taught about safety when riding.
The council and police are looking for volunteers to help to run the days which will benefit local mini moto riders. They are offering training to become fuly qualified mini bike instructors. These instructors will help teach people about the pocket bikes and safety concerning these.
The 'pocket bike club' are also looking for a site to hold races, a plot of land about the size if two tennis courts is needed to race these bikes on.
