Seventeen year old Eric McCrary was one of the unlucky ones to have suffered an injury due to pocket bikes.
His accident left him with 54 stitches and a huge scar on the right hand side of his head.
"I got on one of those pocket bikes, my leg was too big for me to turn on it, the brakes weren`t working on it. I flipped over this little curve..hit a bathtub and my head was gushing out bleeding, says McCrary.
McCrary was travelling at roughly 25 miles per hour at the time of the accident, which put him in hospital.
Where the bike was purchased, at Rick`s Custom Exhaust they sell around 100 of these mini bikes each year and The owner Rick has said that this is mainly to parents buying them for their kids.
He said that most parents do not realise that these bikes are not toys and can infact be very dangerous with skill required to use them.
